This Epic Armoury Foam on Glassfiber Core is a do-it-yourself (DIY) product that allows you to create your own Live Action Role Playing (LARP) weapon with the safety of an Epic Armoury blade. The 8mm Ø glass-fibre core is 75 cm long and is strong, flexible, and fitted with our Kevlar Tip protection to prevent accidents. A 60cm long foam block securely encases the core, leaving a 15 cm gap at the end for the handle. The block is 5 cm wide and 2.5 cm tall, made from durable closed-cell foam that feels soft and light. There are various methods to create your own LARP weapon from this product, but this is one basic approach: Carefully carve the foam block into your desired weapon shape using a knife or sandpaper. Leave a safe amount of foam around the core to preserve its safety once you have the desired shape, and clean and dry the weapon before dipping it into latex. Apply multiple latex layers, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next to create a smooth and protective surface. Coat the latex equipment with a thin silicone layer to prevent the surface from drying out and prolong the weapon's lifespan. Always check your weapon for damage before and after each use. Finally, wrap the handle with leather or cloth for a finished look.
