Epic Armoury's Rillet Rapier, a part of the Vanguard line, draws inspiration from Renaissance rapiers. However, it differentiates itself by emulating rapiers used in battle and warfare rather than the decorative ones seen in European courts. This rapier features a guard that provides protection not only for the top of the hand, like a typical crossguard, but also for the fingers, resembling a basket hilt. The handle is textured with grooves to enhance the wielder's grip. The rain guard (or chappe), which surrounds the handle, is adorned with engravings resembling creeping vines. Similarly, the pommel boasts matching engravings encircling the globe, complementing the chappe. The blade is crafted from closed-cell polyurethane foam, carefully coloured for a realistic appearance. Unlike most LARP weapons, the Vanguard line is low-maintenance, requiring only periodic checks for cuts or damage.
